Identifying Dyslexia

Option 1: Dyslexia Screener for K–12 Students

At A Plus Learning Solutions, we offer a dyslexia screener for students in grades K–12. It helps identify early signs of dyslexia in children and related reading difficulties. This evidence-based tool supports timely intervention for students who may be at risk. Our screener aligns with current standards in dyslexia education and support services.

After the screening, families receive a detailed summary of the results. We also provide personalized recommendations for intervention and support. These may include in-home therapy, online tutoring for learning disabilities, or dyslexia intervention program referrals.

Option 2: Comprehensive Dyslexia Assessment

Our Dyslexia Assessment offers a clear, research-based understanding of your child’s reading challenges through a thorough, science-backed evaluation. It helps determine if your child fits the dyslexia profile and highlights specific areas of difficulty using the latest definition.

This assessment includes:

  • A detailed review of academic and medical records.

  • An analysis of current schoolwork and writing samples.

  • A structured parent interview to gather educational and developmental history.

  • Administration of eight informal tools to assess decoding, fluency, phonological processing, and other key reading skills.

As a trusted dyslexia support provider in Northeast Ohio, we offer personalized recommendations after completing the evaluation. Recommendations may include evidence-based intervention programs, at-home strategies, or school accommodations to support your child’s learning. We also advise families on eligibility for IEPs or the Jon Peterson Scholarship program for additional educational support.

Option 3: Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation

Our Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation is an in-depth process designed to uncover how a child learns best. Conducted by an experienced A Plus Learning Solutions School Psychologist, this evaluation explores the child’s cognitive abilities, academic performance, and social-emotional functioning through a combination of structured interviews, standardized assessments, and behavior rating scales.

The goal is to identify both strengths and areas of concern that may be affecting academic progress or classroom behavior. This process empowers families and educators with actionable insights, helping to develop targeted, evidence-based interventions tailored to the child’s unique learning profile.

Our evaluations are particularly useful in identifying learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The results can inform Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, or classroom accommodations, ensuring your child receives the support they need to thrive—whether through dyslexia support in Beachwood, IEP tutoring in Ohio, or personalized intervention services in Northeast Ohio.

If you’re seeking answers, clarity, and a path forward for your child, our psychoeducational evaluation offers a supportive, data-driven foundation for lifelong learning success.
